New fuzzy butts coming!!

Devastating! So many gone! I keep hearing good things, but that is a lot to go out of what was shipped! I'm so sorry that you lost so many.

Well I certainly know where you all are coming from.To be counting off the days and minutes until your chicks arrive and then to have so many losses too is so very hard.I hate it for all of you.
I know it is terrible when kids are involved too.I hope for better shipments.

Wow - so sorry to hear about all of this. I am getting so nervous for my little ones to come next week. We've been getting weekly huge snowstorms (another one today through tomorrow) so I'm thankful they aren't shipping out tomorrow but I hope the weather for next week is better. I'm also worried about the shipping time from TX-MA since they are shipped on Wednesdays from Ideal - just hope they don't arrive Sat or Sun when our main post office is closed.

It's so exciting, isn't it? I have an order of about 20 diff. chicks coming in April---- I ordered 10 self-blue silkies, 5 NNs, and I think 10 of the rare breed mixed pullets....but I really also wanted some polish crested!

we get all of our chicks from Ideal... 2 batches of 13 each time.... they are a bit cheaper than mcmurray.

i have frizzles and cochins all together and i purchased all of them at different times. i also have a japanese hen & roo a crooked necked polish and i used to have silkies all together mine do wonderful together...like a big happy family

It may be worthwhile to complain to the Post Master General about chic's dieing in the mail.
[Especially if they are delivered to your home instead of the local post office calling you ASAP.]

I don't expect you'll get a reply or anything.

But your complaint may result in an internal notice on how to handle chics in the mail.

It could avoid future problems.

I agree that you should call the main postal office in the area. Sometimes they aren't aware of what the smaller P O'S are doing. YOU should have been called and gone to get them so that they wouldn't have to be left out in the mail carriers vehicle all day. There is no excuse for such poor handling of special merchandise like that. ANY and ALL live animals I have been told by my post office are to either be the first delivery or the person is called to come and get them. Please call and complain. Save someone else's babies. Sorry for your losses.

You should complain about it, they are supposed to call or send out a special delivery.
I am a bit worried about mine they are coming tomorrow and it is so cold near the hatchery!

McMurry is reshiping my order nent week temps will be no lower then 23 degrees and they may add a few males for heat. They were very apoligetic. I was upset and stil am with the experience but they are doing what they can to make it right. And that makes me feel a little better. There is oly one still alive I hope it pulls thru.
