Some of the Agway's in MA are flexible with the rule, especially if you have other chickens already. We got 3 last year.....

Hey.....what happened to my thread? I got deleted for asking a question and then stating an opinion about cops showing up at a Chicken Swap and the new regulations? Geesh.....I would think that would be common concern for all swappers. Must have said something they did not like.

Far better to post discussions on changing laws here, without any indictments of situations at swaps.

What are they afraid of? I had a very innocent question I thought and then complained about the state stepping in. Who's toes did I step on that they would have to delete my questions and the statements that followed?

I also agree that 12 chicks is extreme. I hope that this will change as do the rest of you. If you wish to add a breed to your flock most people want 1 or 2 not 12. It is very difficult to find a 4 week old chick of a breed that you want and the average hobbyst does not want to be bothered with reselling the unwanted 12 after they have cared for them for 3 weeks or more.

this is a good thread. maybe if we all work toward the same goal we can get the rule changed. I know both greg and I are not happy with it. I will refer as many people as possible to this thread and tell greg about it when he gets home.
