There is no breed called New Hampshire RED. There just isn't. No breed listed with the American Poultry Association or accepted by the APA with that name, no matter how often people casually use it. Thus, a New Hampshire Red Heritage bird is a misnomer, a myth.

Many folks would be delighted to help teach and help folks learn about these true APA, true bred, heritage fowl, if one is willing to learn. Unless one gets their chickens from a true breeder, you'll not get heritage, or true bred birds. Hatcheries and feed stores that re-sell hatchery birds, simply do not have them.
