Sorry for being a little off topic, but I was wondering if anyone knew the name and location of a lady who runs a used tack shop in the area. I'm thinking it's a little bit of a drive from here in Troy, but not too far. DH & I wanted to see what she had for sale (particularly a new riding helmet for him, and a harness for my mini mare), but I can't for the life of me remember what town she's in or the name of her place.

I've been searching around online and can't find it there. I figure some other local horse people here can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

There sued to be a place in Brookline NH if that is the one you are thinking about. They closed a couple years ago. There is a tack shop called the stone pony on rte 101-A in Amherst and also a consignment shop called twice as nice that has some horse and other animal items on the same road and on the opposite corner.

hi all,
I am selling hatching eggs for $6.00 a dozen if anyone is interested. I am too busy to hatch right now. I currently have 8 breeding pens set up. most of the eggs will be purebred. I have 1 pen that was set up 2 weeks ago, but the rest have been set up for a month or longer. the eggs will be variety packs. I get about a dozen per day so you will get whatever I get. later I will be selling them by breed but the price will be higher. I have 9 roosters but have not checked fertility. 7 of the 9 are last years hatch so fertility should not be a problem. what do I have?
old english
silkies
showgirls
easter eggers
frizzled polish
sizzles
frizzles of all types
belgian antwerps

this year my focus is on frizzles. I have frizzled all the following breeds- showgirls, bantam polish, standard polish, silkies, ees, mottled houdan, naked necks, speckled sussex, bantam salmon favorelle, appenzeller, orpington, brabanter, bantam penciled rock, bantam silver laced wyandotte, bantam cochin, bantam japanese, bantam sultan and old english.

I have alot of blue, black, and splash birds. I also have lavender. I have a barred frizzle roo and a frizzled cochin roo that is half lavender covering many of my bantam hens. there is a lavender silkie and a white showgirl in with these boys too!

my pen with big birds has 2 roos in it. 1 is a white and blue ee with a red saddle and the other is a buff frizzled polish.

my antwerp roo is porcelain. his hens are porcelain, black mottled, white, and millie fleur

as you can see, this is a great opportunity to hatch many different breeds at a rock bottom price. I will hold this price for a short time only and right now the eggs are pickup only. happy hatching!

I am not on the computer alot so if I do not answer your pm soon enough, send a pm to blazing saddles (the NH swap director) he is online more frequently than I am. he is selling runner and muscovy duck eggs for $5.00 a dozen right now. one of his muscovies is lavender.

put me on the list for some of those bantam fav eggs! do you know who's lines they may be from? if you have pics of the parents could you pm them to me?

thanks for the interest in my eggs. I think I need to explain what I am selling a little better. you will get a mixed dozen, kind of like a grab bag. for example, last night I collected a doz eggs. whoever buys tha doz will receive eggs from 12 different hens. no 2 will be alike. my birds are in breeding pens. most pens contain 1 roo so 12 eggs will give you a variety of breeds. for example, 1 pen has a tiny partridge silkie roo,a partridge showgirl hen, a black and rust frizzle hen, and a black silkie hen. that pen will produce showgirls, silkies and sizzles. all pens are set up similar. you will get 12 eggs from the same day. I have blue, black, splash pens, large breed pens, a japanese frizzle pen, a belgian antwerp pen, a pen that will produce multiple varieties of frizzles. an old english game pen. I will be collecting eggs from all pens and mixing them into variety packs. please remember that only 50 percent of frizzles carry the frizzle gene so there will be smooth frizzles too. I also have a few crosses in with the frizzles such as a silkie mixed with a white tailed black japanese. if I have any crosses they are the offspring of 2 purebreds. I have a blue frankensilkie that will be bred to a frizzled polish. each dozen could contain a small percentage of mixes. I want to be clear on that.

Chickie'sMoma :

ah, thanks for letting know! now what does this 'frankensilkie' look like? i might still want some if i get to see how strangely cute he is!

you owned 2 of them last season. the two I kept are both hens. 1 is blue and 1 is a white tailed black. they are the splash silkies that I crossed with my big girls. they are med sized birds and lay full sized eggs.

Power went out here, but giving the fact that our other poultry leave their nests for hours on end and still hatch out babies, you should be fine. Out bator went from 99.4 and dropped to 66.9, we're banking on everything being ok.

My power went out for 3 1/2 days and I had 2 full incubators. Amazingly, after about the same temp. as you, maybe a little lower I have 11 EE eggs still thriving, 2 Speckled Sussex & 1 Dominques...all alive and developing! Of course I lost all the rest, including 6 Blue Langshans 2/3 days from hatching:(
But still, I thought it was a miracle that they survived at all!
