Hello from Atkinson NH. I am new to BYC and new to raising chickens. I have my first flock of 6 and already addicted, they will be 4 weeks old this weekend. I have been reading a lot of post on BYC trying to learn. I am finishing the coop and hoping to get the girls out of the basement soon.

Rottlady Good luck on the hatch. I made a complaint to the post office here about the way my chicks and eggs get handled in St Paul...I am convinced (conspiracy theorist here) some PETA person works there and purposely destroys eggs and chicks by letting them sit an extra day or two.

If they just let the box sit it would be fine
Based on the bubbles and trashed air cells they obviously played basketball with the box

That was a new technique I used after Liz's eggs were shattered.
