I've heard they buy from Meyer but am not sure.Really? I had no idea! The box I got from them was post-marked CT, so I guess I assumed they had their own hatchery! Well, you learn something new every day.![]()

I see from the other thread two of the breeds you are looking for are Speckled Sussex and Dorkings. I used to breed Speckled Sussex, but sold my flock to Arielle (BYC screen name), you could try contacting her for SS (if you can't find her, msg me and I'll give you her contact info). As for Dorkings, what type? I breed Red's (but am sold out for 2013), and Joe at Yellow House Farm has Whites http://www.yellowhousefarmnh.com/. Joe's birds are beautiful and you would do well to get birds from him. Hope this helps. So, is there a compiled list of NH breeders somewhere? I'm finding it hard to search properly on my iPad:-( Also, I'm concerned that I won't find the breeds I want for delivery the same time. I don't have tons of space for multiple-aged brooders.
Also I saw you're looking for barred rocks, but I wonder if you'd consider Dominiques? Because vnsseed sells some nice quality Doms. Thanks! Yes, my White Dorkings are coming from Joe. Can't wait to pick them up!!!

Blue Seal has non-medicated chick starter I believe. And they also have organic feed. Tractor Supply should also sell non-medicated chick starter. If you are having your chicks vaccinated for coci, then the medicated feed won't hurt them, it would just nullify the vaccine but the medicated feed itself will do the same thing. I prefer *not* to get them vaccinated for cocci myself and just use the medicated feed.Hey to all us New Hampshirites... where does everyone get their organic feed? And is it possible to get non-medicated chick starter? I wish I had gone around to some stores earlier to see what I could find! I was about to place my chicken order when I'm asked: do you want to vaccinate your birds? Well, I've heard that the cocci vacc. becomes null and void if you use med. feed, which I'd rather not do, but not sure if that's the only option around me? I'm sure shipping food to me is probably cost prohibitive. What is everyone else doing if they do organic?
Thanks!
Same here for Milford. I have been asking for a few weeks and the best response I got back was they were due on March 18th. Well, yesterday I went in and they are also ready for chicks starting next week.Just to give everyone a heads up, I went into TSC in Plymouth NH today to pick up some cat litter for my new Barn Cat, and everything was set up for their "Chick Days". They stated that they will be getting there first shipment early next week. I inquired on what breeds they will have, but they said they didn't know, it would be breeders choice.
