I have red bourbons too! Also have narragansetts! Can't wait to incubate!

my red was sold to me as a Narragansett. I went home and looked up pictures and figured out what I bought. She is a good little girl but not what I was looking for. Now I am attached to her so she stays.

I have royal palms and one bourbon red hen. they are 3 and 6 months old. mine are friendly and curious too.
Do you have more than 1 tom? never considered infertility. Have you ever let a hen hatch? I am good at hatching chickens and really bad at hatching ducks.

I do have more than 1Tom, I have 2. Last year I had 3Toms but we had 1 Tom for Easter Dinner. So we will be going into next season with 2Toms and 6Hens.

I had 2 hens try to hatch out a clutch of about 15eggs. Unfortunately I didn't separate then from the Toms and the Toms destroyed the nest. Next year I will have a seperate area For the Toms to move to incase any go broody.

Hi All - I am in need of 1-2 adult female ducks to get us through until spring when we can hatch our own. One of my females died last week and I have one female and two drakes left. Two drakes and one hen isn't good. If anyone knows of someone who has some female ducks they are willing to part with please let me know. I live in Piermont. Thanks

I'm hoping to convince the hubby on these for next year. I have to do my research on them to make sure. How do you house them in winter? Same as with chickens? I have a pond on my property that I'd love to utilize for water fowl... I have dreams of swans one day

It's in the very back of the area we cleared out to make a huge backyard and I was going to put their housing down there but not sure what I'd do in the winter as it's too far to get to during the heavy snows of winter without some major plowing. What type of housing works for them overwinter.

we have our ducks rite in with our buff orpingtons
the ducks sleep on the floor & the buffs sleep on the roost
we run a cord out there (150 feet) so we can plug in their bucket heater

NH folks- I am looking for an insured carpenter/handyman who can help me rebuild and winterize the roof on my chicken's 15x20 run. The tarp set-up I thought would work failed last night in a heavy rain storm, and I'm afraid it's going to pull down the whole roof. Looking for recommendations ASAP, before the ground freezes.
