Very new here and new to chickens!! I’d love to hear from and take advice from anyone local!
I’ve got four 4.5 week old chickies right now and I’m already in love and wanting more! Definitely becoming a crazy chicken lady. That’s more dignified than crazy cat lady right? At least I stopped at two cats 😬🙂

here’s some pictures of my adorable RIRs and ISA browns
RIRs are Gertie and Penny(maybe Peter, we’re suspicious)
ISAs are Coka and Vina (coq au vin)

Three of my buildings are plywood decking on the roof covered by EPDM rubber. EPDM will last forever (in chicken coop lives) (about 30-40 years), very lightweight and easy to work with and cuts with a scissors. It is best to fully adhere it with an EPDM adhesive.
On my buildings with steeper roof grades, I use shingles.
You can use either with that roofline.
Another option is corrugated metal or plastic. It depends on a lot of things. like predator intrusion, light intrusion, weather, etc..

got the roof and most of the nesting box done.
this weekend i will have the rest of the walls up and roofing.
I might have over done the thickness on the roof plywood.

Also the orphingtons are all hatching right now.View attachment 2333619View attachment 2333620
are you just doing wood for the roof? We did a corrugated metal roof, and all the wood we used is pressure treated. We built it to last lol

Mine are about 6-7 weeks now and they're really starting to looks like cute little hens! It's so exciting watching them grow from little bitties.
