New here, hello! First time incubating, duck eggs in a Little Giant -- tips (humidity, temp?) :)

Seondly, buy one or 3 of these and trust them...and NOT the readings on the incubator itself.

Hello Kiki (and sorry for the LATE reply, lol — you gave me this advice months ago, and then life happened and here I am finally replying!! 😊)

I took your advice and got one of those Govee things, and played around with my incubator & water levels!! 🙂 Tbe temp was totally different than the temp displayed (ok, fine, I’ll just use the Govee temp, lol), but unfortunately, there was also quite a lot of fluctuation throughout the day — for example, if I had it averaging 98 degrees, it would get down to 96.6 at night and then up to 99.7 midday. Does this just mean my incubator isn’t good enough to actually hatch from? Or is there potentially a way to fix this? 🙂

The incubator heater apparently isn’t able to keep the temp up. What kind is it? You can’t hatch in it if temps are going down to 96. It’s best to stay within a degree at most either side of 99.5F

I would try moving it to a different place/room and see if it does better. You could also try insulating it with a bath towel or blanket, but be sure not to cover any vents.
