Thank you for adding me to this great, informative site! We lived in the country for 15 years With our kids, cats, dogs, chickens, goats, sheep, rabbits and a donkey. We are now in town and miss our animals so we just got a few chicksšŸ„° I am using an ā€œouthouseā€ again for the coop and put it inside a dog run/with cover to keep them safe-not quite done setting it up but the chicks are still inside so we have time. We had a rooster and LOVED hearing him crow but he did get mean. We canā€™t have a rooster in town not because there is an ordinance but because we donā€™t want to annoy the neighbors or I would get another!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
That's a great repurposing of the outhouse! But you might want to add a bunch of ventilation to it. Top hinged windows that are backed with 1/2" hardware cloth and some permanent ventilation openings backed with HC under the roof line and at the gable peaks.

Yes, we were thinking same! I donā€™t think the little area in front will be enough. Thank you!
Feel free to create a new thread here in the Coop & Run forum with pictures of the outside of your coop all the way around and some of the inside of the ceiling area too.
