I have not yet received it yet from what i understand its easy a to assemble DIY kit. I have attached a photo obtained from the website.

Welcome & a couple of things to help others help you.
  • Can you let us know the general part of the world you're in as that will determine some of the things you will need in your coop
  • How many chickens? You will need roughly 4sq' of space per chicken
  • Bantams or standards? You can get away with a little less space with bantams but may need a little more for some of the larger standards.
  • Will your birds be getting any free range time?
Like many people here we built our own coop but we are subtropical & heat is our killer, not the cold. We have a large coop, 2 runs, a small pre~fab for emergencies & our girls are presently getting some free range time as well.

Hey there,

I live in Durban South Africa so I am also dealing with the heat and humidity, I'm not sure if fans in the coups are an option.

As I'm a newbie I am dealing with you common garden type chicken here lol. am getting 4 chickens. They will be mostly doing the free range thing as well.

Ok, I'm not sure that your chosen coop has enough ventilation. It's a bit hard to tell but you may need to make some adjustments. I wouldn't use a fan in such a small coop.

You want circulating air but nothing blowing directly on your birds.

We actually have an open fronted coop. I only drop a curtain in really inclement weather when otherwise wind & rain would blow directly on my birds.

If you can give the coop dimensions I'm sure someone here will be able to advise you better.
 
Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
The coop you have chosen is too small for 4 normal size chickens.
I would build an open air coop in your climate. They need maximum ventilation year round to deal with the heat.
