New Jersey

Pics

I just found out how to add a picture, thought I would show off my girls. Got a lot of snow this weekend (over 2 ft,) so I thought I would spend some time here. Not going out any time soon. How did everyone else in Jersey do with the snow?

I'm just up the road from you in Washington Twsp. We got another 20 inches or so here & my girls are not happy. I'm sure, like me they were hoping the last snow we got was the end but were certainly surprised when I opened their coop door on Friday morn:eek: I am seriously tired of shoveling paths for them, & this last snow was wet & heavy!!

Just left the TSC in Southampton and was told they aren't having any chick days anymore thanks to our great state and the taxes they demand.

I think Tractor Supply might be cheaper but not 100% sure, but I do know that TS has a lot more stuff than Agway. What feed stores to you go to in your area?

In Tabernacle we go to Allen's, in Medford we go to Kirby's, in Lumberton we go to TSC, and if DH is on way home he sometimes stops in Columbus at Agway.

The Agway in New Egypt says it delivers to ALL of NJ for free. www.neagway.com/index.html

Hi,
I'm a NYer now, but I'm still connected to Jersey. I needed 20 acres of elbow room. I grew up in Paramus, my parents still live there and I work in Wayne.

I'm looking for hatching eggs, would prefer BRs, RIRs, Welsummers. I can travel about an hour of Wayne NJ. Anyone have any for sale?

Joanne

Hello, I am pretty new to the chicken world. This site is awesome. We live in Independence Twp, Warren County and we now have 41 week old chicks! A pretty good assortment: Silver Laced Wyandottes, Jersey Giants, Speckled Sussex, Buff Orpingtons, Easter Eggers, Barred Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, Red Stars. It is only a week, but I am fascinated at the differences between the breeds. The Wyandottes are so curious, and the Orpingtons seem to be quite docile and enjoy being handled. I am so happy that we got into this! It is really a wonderful experience watching them grow and develop.
