Happy New Year to eveyone in Jersey. I am from Salem county and just fired up my incubator. Im hatching Ameraucana and Wyandotte mixed chicks. My small flock of ameraucanas consists of a black roo and his 2 black and 2blue hens. (beautiful blue eggs) My golden-laced wyandotte roo has a mix of amberlink and production red hens and 1 GLW hen.(all brown eggs) I might sell some but right now I am just hoping for some fuzzy babies. I am still a newbie at incubation, but I did have a few sucsessful attempts last year. Happy I found this thread.
I also have a young bourbon red turkey hen. I am interested in hatching some turkey eggs. I guess I have to wait for local fertile eggs.

My girls and boys aren't happy with this snow. I've decided not to let them out at all until this passes. I don't want to take the chance they get Frost bite. Anyone else keeping their chickens in?

We got lucky here in south Jersey. Only about an inch to deal with. I open the coops eveyday and let the girls decide if they want to go out. They always do. We live among the oaks and walnuts so the wind isnt a factor. The young ones tend to go back in the coop during the day. Everyone goes in when it gets dark.
