Where in point pleasant? I am in the part of brick that is close to point. I saw you posted about the roo...can you have them in point? We can't in brick, which is fine, our neighbors wouldn't like that so much. ;)

In Point, you can have one roo. I live in the area near Princeton Ave that leads to Brick. OTC by canals and the Sanctuary. My neighbors wouldn't even hear a rooster with their barking dogs, loud radio, and their garage band.... Ugh. They are so annoying!

I could set her up in the garage with heat but i think she'd be so lonely. What do you think?
They are already off the heat lamp. I still have them inside though. I'll send a new pic tomorrow.
njchix- our electric netting should arrive any day. We ordered about 250' so we're going to section off about 60 square feet of the yard as a free ranging area. I'll let you know when it gets here.
Yes let me know how it goes.

I am lucky we have great neighbors! I would not want to make them mad :)
I live near 70.

I am from Brick. We are new to this but my husband did a lot of research (and when I realized he was serious, so did I

) and he and our boys built a coop and a run in our backyard. We aren't allowed to have them be free range in our town, nor would we want them to be due to the hawks and cats so they are safely enclosed in chicken wire. That being said, when we are home, we occasionally let them out to roam our backyard a bit. Our dog was born on a farm and seems to have a natural herding instinct to get back into the coop

Hi,
I live in Brick also. Not only do we see the hawks flying around all the time, but I do see the 2 bald eagles that live over by where Dennys used to be flying over head all the time. But with the eagles I do think that their wing span is too big for them to land safely in my yard.

Hi Are you breeding your Dominiques? I would love to get some to show PM me and let me know

Oh...I have not seen the eagles but we also had 6 turkey vultures circling our yard a few days ago. My husband says they are not so much of a problem. :/
Between the bunny, 4 hens and our dog...we are starting to look like there is a farm out there at times (the dog lives inside but plays outside often). Oh and we are most likely getting another bunny this week for our son whose other one died last year.

I have rabbits also, they are 3 sisters that I adopted when they were 7months old. They just turned 2yrs. last week.
I think the turkey vultures eat dead animals, not sure if they are live hunters. I could be wrong though.
The eagles are BEAUTIFUL to see flying around. If you happen to pass behind Denneys sometimes you can see them perched on the cell tower-that's where their nest is.

I think you are right about the turkey vultures.

What kind of rabbits? We might get a lop this time. We are not sure of the exact type we have now (bought her at a pet store-bad idea...she's great but they had no idea about bunnies!)

I will keep an eye out for the eagles :)
