Getting my cages ready for travel and display for your shindig! Still trying to decide who to bring to show off. If only I had more dog crates!/ See you Saturday! My goal is to make it by noon, but let's not hold our breath.

Hey, do you have a table for the cages to go up on? It's hard to get the birds out when I have to get down on the ground.

I do have a table you can use and I also have some counter space if you want to be inside I have at least one dog crate type of cage you can use once you are here if that helps any.

Wow, Thanks ladies! I can fit two large fowl in a large dog crate. Three has them pecking at each other. I think I would just need one more large - that way I can bring six LF. (Man - hope they all don't need a bath!) The rest are either not good examples or are molting - urgh! I have a smaller dog crate for the favs. Sunny, if Sarah has one at her place already, that would probably be easiest, but thanks! If you ever want to unload one, let me know!

Thanks again!

So there are now 4 of us certified to do pullorum testing in Burlington County. Just a matter of having a light box to do the test as former testers have not returned some of them. THe NJDA does have a list of all testers in the state, where they will test, how much they may charge and hours they can be reached. The test is good for 90 days and the serum we were given expires 8/19/2011. so the test would still be good 90 days if done before 8/19/2011. Lisa from the NJDA is really great.
Wanted to say they also recommend Dr. Jonathan Bergmann for a vet. They call him in if they need help. There is a pathologist on staff now also at the NJDA if a necropsy needs to be done (for free).

Thanks guys! I do love my "eye candy" flock! I never have a problem showing them off. My birds used to be "meh" until I learned more. Everyone starts that way, and I still have some hatchery birds - can't get rid of them, I've had them forever. Had a really great time - make sure you plan one again! What a wonderful store. It was so great to meet you guys! Hope you can up to our show in May!

Dr. Bergmann is an EXCELLENT vet. I cannot say enough good things about him. Found out about him when I had a sick hen. He was soooo good with her. Very thorough and gentle. He did cure her and she got better until a few months later when there was no fixing her. Think she might've had cancer. He was with with me the whole way being very understanding about how hard it was to put her down. I held her in a towel and he so gently gave her her shot. Wish he was single, cause he's a catch! LOL He has lot's of experience with animals as he grew up at the Popcorn Zoo. His father owns it and is very passionate about it. Was helping a friend of mine who's a wildlife rehaber and she would have me go there to get deer, birds, whatever that had to be transported to Cedar Run Wildlife. His father is there everyday and he's also amazing with animals. So, again, Dr. Bergmann is the best that's out there. And he deals with all farm animals.....sheep, goats, etc.
