Glad to see a lot of NJ representation! Central Jersey here - Hunterdon County to be more precise
Oh I'm a true Jerseyite, very proud to be one! Jersey born and raised.
Hunterdon is a bit west of me, but still not too far.
If you notice, the 'acceptable driving distance' in NJ is a lot smaller than in PA. That's because we have to drive miles and miles to see civilization up there. In NJ everything is so close and there is so much civilization that it makes a mile feel so much further to drive LOL.

Thanks,
Jenne

Help this Mantua, NJ Mom win her fight to keep pet chickens and get her town's ordinance changed!
She has an online petition going and is hoping for 100 signatures.

I very much admire the information she's gathered on her site, also. It's a great resource for anyone in a town that needs to clarify or create pro-chicken ordinances (like mine!)

Let's all help our neighbors fight the good fight and spread the joy of chicken-keeping!

Signed - keep us posted! What affects other towns affects all of us!

Hi-- I am thinking of moving to Middletown, Nj-- do you know what the rules are for having backyard chickens?

The last time I checked with the zoning office he said the are NO regulations regarding chickens! Regardless, I still do not keep a LF rooster in my flock. My neighbors tolerate my birds, but I don't want to deliberately antagonize them! They don't seem to mind my bantam male.

Where in Middletown are you looking? It's pretty spread out, but awesome. I used to live in the River Plaza area, which I highly recommend, and now I live back where I grew up, in Oak Hill. Also recommended, but not cheap.( Moved back home with the folks after my divorce. I could never afford to live here on my own!)
