The chickens are still in the garage while the roof is being built. I've been setting the trap with sardines and that's what the first skunk (a baby) went after. The next baby skunk went after the smell of the sardines since the trap was empty but the smell was probably still around because the first skunk made a mess. The third skunk was an adult and I have a feeling it may have been tracking the smell of the babies since the trap was still not baited. Each time there was a skunk in the trap it really tore up the ground trying to dig out so maybe the birds went in to pick at the turned up dirt.
You can tell I've given this some thought
