My Sicilian buttercup laid her first egg today in the middle of my run. While trying to recover her egg I noticed she was losing yolk out her vent every so often. Is this cause for concern? What should I do?

She may have had a soft or thin-shelled egg break inside her. If you have a rubber glove handy, I would feel inside her vent 1-2 inches to make sure there are no remnants of the egg or membrane, and gently remove them. Make sure she is getting layer feed and extra calcium on the side by putting out crushed oyster shell in a separate container.
