Robin, 9 years is a long time with the same chicken, sorry for your loss :hugs, but also happy for you getting back on the horse(so to speak) and getting back in to what you obviously enjoy. Good luck with your new flock and ask these folks about your coop fortifications. They may be able to shed some light in on any thing that can help protect your young flock.
