Hi, Debby: No, I have not built my coop yet. My son and I are partners in this ordeal and we have not yet decided whether we will build one or buy a kit to put one together. Any suggestions?
YES YES YES YES YES!!!I'd suggest either building one from scratch or maybe modifying a shed. There are 100's of coops in the Coop section (under the Articles tab) to gather ideas from. You'll want to take into account the number of chickens you want (bigger is better), your climate, your budget, building skill level, etc.
Too many of the pre-built ones are not large enough to hold the number of chickens they advertise and are not well built.

Sounds like a great father/son project!
