(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We have had chickens for about 5 years now. We bought a pretty good selection of brown egg layers two years ago and recently added several Americanas and Rhode Island Reds to the flock. We do have 3 roosters, one intentional and the other 2 a surprise in our brown egg layers purchase.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 20 chickens and 3 roosters.
(3) What breeds do you have? Not sure as we bought the brown egg layers and they don't specify. I am sure there is a group of Plymouth Rock, then there are white chickens that lay brown eggs (large ones and until the storm they were the best producers), and a group of brownish ones.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? We bought a flock here a couple of years ago.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Stamping, fitness, running.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Grandparents to one teen age girl and 4 foster grandbabies, parents of 2 - boy and girl. I work from home in Marketing Consulting and am also a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach; my husband is Director of Clinical Engineering at a hospital.
