Hi Nina! Welcome to BYC. We're happy to have you join us. Unfortunately I don't know of anyone with the Rooster your looking for but I am wishing you all the best in your continued search. I hope you will share pictures of what sounds to be an amazing coop and run, whenever you finish it. Looking forward to interacting with you here

Hi! :frow Welcome to BYC! This is something you will figure out on your own, but I thought I'd just mention, at 4 sf per chicken that coop would be just big enough for 12 chickens. You mentioned having 15. Overcrowding will cause pecking problems. I know some people make it work with less space, so you do what works for you, but thought I'd mention it.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. I would guess there is a "Brahma " thread on BYC, try using the search box to find it. I don't know about colors but, someone from UK puts up some gorgeous pictures of their birds.

We have a member BrahmaChicken5000 in US but, I don't recall his name or location.

Eggs can be left out in room temperature (ideal temp is 55-70) for up to 7 days before they're put into an incubator. When you get eggs that are shipped they usually wrap them very well, but sometimes the air cells detach so you have to let the eggs rest for a day or two with the pointy end down. an egg has to be in the perfect condition to create life. You have to have a certain humidity (40-55%) and a certain temperature (99.5-102).

I just put fertile eggs from my flock that were in the refrigerator for 2 days into the incubator and they are actually growing. I just wanted extra eggs to fill the incubator. I don't recommend using refrigerated fertile eggs though.

Hi there! I have sent this on to a few people since reading- wow. Eggs are INCREDIBLE! and a little bit weird. I will try to refrain from telling my husband that eggs that have been in the refrigerator might be able to make a chicken... haha!
Thank you for your response- really that's so cool.

What about gold partridge brahma I don’t think it would be crazy hard to find one of those.
Hi there! From what I have been told by a couple brahma breeders is that there is no such thing as a "gold partridge brahma" and that the color is just called "gold brahma" (so they're the same thing) but I dont really care what they're called, I just know I love the way it looks!

Thanks for writing to me! With what I know now about fertile eggs being able to sit at room temp for 7 days... maybe I can just have some eggs shipped from the UK! my co-worker is from England and knew what i was talking about straight away.

Maybe there is hope!

Eggs are definitely incredible and weird :eek:I have learned so much in the past 15 days with incubating my own eggs. My husband and I stand there with our jaws on the floor every time we candle an egg. It's so insane and an incredible feeling to be able to pull eggs from your own flock and incubate them!

I HIGHLY recommend Black Jersey Giant roosters. I've had roosters from several breeds and my two BJG are the only roosters I never wanted to rehome. They're gentle Giants and amazing protectors.

So handsome! And I love the size of the JG!! very tempting for me... and definitely one of the runner ups. I just cant resist the gold and red and black plumage. After my dad's brown leghorn its just hard to go back! I've attached a photo of good ol' OJ here.
