Took her to one vet on Monday. Radio graphs ruled out being egg bound. No fever. Started antibiotics. She has not gotten any worse but still no better. I'm taking her to another vet this afternoon (the one I really wanted to see but he was off island). I had a telephone consult with him yesterday and he got the x-rays from the other vet. He said it appears her intestines are distended. He thinks she may have some sort of gastroenteritis or possibly a partial obstruction; he's not sure. He will be during a barium test with additional radio graphs today and keeping her overnight. He'll also give me what I need to tube feed her until she starts eating on her own. I have been syringe feeding her and same with fluids which as we know doesn't work as well as tube feeding. Fingers crossed for both her and my checkbook!
