Thanks, the Cubalaya hen did not make it this time. She was 8 or 9 years old. It really did feel like a soft cyst in her abdomen. Nearest avian vet is a hundred miles away. Poor henny, she was my son's showmanship bird. I wish we could have saved her, she was very sick with same thing around Christmas for about three weeks, but this time she went to Hen heaven in about 4 days. Epsom salt baths seemed to make her feel better but she was never a fat hen and did not have the strength for the fight or perhaps it was just a fatal situation anyway.

She was an old girl so you must have been doing something right.
