(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I've been raising my Birdies for about 1.5 years now. I got my first peeps in 2022 and haven't stopped.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now we have 16 girls and we just lost Henry a week ago tomorrow and we're still grieving. He was an eggcelent rooster and performed his job well with the upmost grace and dedication that one would expect from a True Barr Rock. We miss him tremendously.
Which brings me to the reason for this post.
About 7 months ago we introduced 4 Ameraucanas to our flock. All was well until last week. I was preparing the birds for their move from the Hen house to their run when Spunkey hence her name, lofted and flew right into our sliding glass door. She was only in the air for about 3 to 4 feet. I immediately jumped in to access the damage. No apparent external cuts and she looked a bit dazed but otherwise completely intact. Since that day she hasn't seemed to be quite right. Lethargic, slow in movements and somewhat to herself. No other symptoms are present at this time. Any suggestions might you have.
Kind Regards,
Worried
