Hi everyone,
I am very new to this forum but need some help.
I had two pekin ducks and one got out on me and could not find her.
I got two more full grown that was supposed to be only born last April.
I know they are female as I picked them out myself. They quack loud and don't have curled tail feathers.
The man I purchased them from said they weren't laying yet. He had 25. I thought it was because he never found them as they were allowed to range on 3 acres.
I got them home and put them in with the one I had. It took them a couple of days to get use to each other but then they were fine.
The two that I got still stay together but get along with the other one.
I am still not getting eggs from them and have had them for a month now.
How can I get them to lay?
I only get the one egg a day from the first one I had.
The only thing I can think of is the daylight is controlling them.
I give them plenty of food and water with a pool to swim in. I change the pool every other day as it is a large kid pool and thought every two days would be fine.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thanks

Yup. They need 14 hours a day of light to lay. They should start soon.

No you are not doing anything wrong .
nothing you can really do except wait , they will lay when they are ready , its more less a waiting game , LOL
