Priests are actually very rare, so it is quite unlikely that there are any at the auctions. The ones I have, the line had to be imported from Germany.

Here's my lahore male, I'd love to get him a mate in the future.

There is a breederthat imports rare breeds of pigeons to the auction . I seen damansces or somthing like that . you wouldnt belive that goes threw the auction . People dont know what they got . WHen i see them agsain ill buy them just to show you what they are

mine are lighter than urs and have bars on thier wings . They lay eggs but dont sit on them that long but they are fertile cuz i put them under a homer hen and hatched it but it hatched after hers did so she didnt feed it
i got them at the show last january

What you have are Jacobins, and they have been bred for many years to develope the Mane around the head. Most breeders will clip the feathers around the head during breeding season so that they can see to feed the chicks, otherwise they pull the eggs and foster them under homers or another breed.

There are two types of fantails, the Indian and the European. The Indian fantail has the small crest on it's head and feathered feet. The European is a clean headed and legged bird.

As to finding LaHores, try do a web search for the National Pigeon Association and check and see if they have any breeders near you.

Modenas, Kings, Runts and Giant Homers were breeds developed for meat production originally. Also you might want to do a search for the National Lahore Club. Most breeds of pigeons now have National or Regional Clubs.

I know that there are several LaHore breeders in the New York area, because they bring their young birds to Louisville every year for the National Young Bird Show.

I have the European Fantails and Racing Homers, and am building them a new loft. Right now most of the framing is done except the roof.

Keep em flying!

Nope, Capuchines have heavy feathered feet, Jacobins do not. From the original pictures these birds do not have feathered feet, and if these are young birds then their hoods have not fully developed yet.
