New Project "Road to Ok" Quilt for My Bed (Top Finished!)

I moved at the speed of molasses today. Finished the gold border, put a narrow black border on top and bottom and got one of the 12" blocks done for the pillow area. Took forever, it seemed, especially having to unsew stuff that should have fit in the first place. My poor tingling fingers!

It always seems to me that the closer to the end you get, the longer it takes! I think it is because you get anxious to get it done.

Unsew ... heck, I'm so experienced at that, I can do it at lightening speed!

I am 56, and this past year I have noticed my hands get tired out now. I especially notice it on my thumb joints. Odd, huh?

My doc told me that my carpal tunnel symptoms are related to my malfunctioning thyroid, as is my cholesterol. No issues till the thyroid kicked up a fuss. The machine at least lets me piece without numb or tingling fingers, but the seam ripping is a bear!

I know thyroid affects so many aspects of health, but I had never heard of it affecting carpal tunnel. My youngest sister is a hair stylist, and she had carpal tunnel surgery at an early age. Never the same afterwards, and she never did go back to hair styling. It was just to painful for her. She had to totally change career choices. Come to think about it, I think she takes thyroid medication. I'm gonna have to double check that!

In spite of having a crashing headache the first part of the day, I did make some progress with the quilt. I still need to add a blue strip at the bottom to coordinate with the one at the pillow tuck area and then decide on the borders to finish up, probably plain ones, maybe black and green, not sure. Sorry about the light. It was snowing today, but eventually, I'll get it outside so you can see the colors more accurately. You may have to refresh the screen to get the entire second picture on your monitor.

I am so ready to get all my CHRISTmas gifts made so I can get started on the quilt I would love to make for our bed. Cyn....you are doing a fabulous job. Keep up the good work. I know its hard to work on something when your not feeling well, but when it comes out right you actually feel a little better. Great job!!!
