New roo and hurt hen

I just got a rooster for my flock. He’s about 6 months old and currently separated from the hens. One of my hens was injured by a predator recently and still recovering. She’s well enough to be with the flock but I’m worried about the rooster hurting her.

I want to quarantine the rooster for some time anyways, curious how long you all would quarantine him? For illness and to protect the hen? Would he even try to mate her while she’s injured? I’m hoping his quarantine will also give her plenty of time to heal.

4 weeks would be the appropriate time to quarantine and treating for internal and external parasites will make sure he will not contaminate your chicken coop and run.
