New to all this

Hello All. My real name is Spencer and I live on the coast of North Carolina. I have some friends that have begun to raise chickens and I plan on doing the same thing in the spring of 2015. I want to learn and prepare as much as possible before then because I have a couple of projects I will be starting to make our family somewhat self sufficient, with chickens, vegetable gardens, etc. Turning our back yard into a fully functioning mini farm is my goal.

Trust me, I will be asking a lot of questions and plan on posting pictures and updates of every thing as the projects go on.
