Hi...my name is Lynn and my husband and I are recently retired and getting ready to move onto the land we bought 8 years ago. This is our 'early retirement' plan :) My husband is looking forward to raising cattle again, and I am looking forward to having chickens. I have probably forgotten more than most people will ever know, so it is almost like starting for the first time. The kids ordered all kinds of breeds from MurrayMcMurray to show for 4-H, so I do remember some I liked and a few I didn't. I am planning to buy around 30 chicks, and I'm debating between MurrayMcMurray or buying them locally...probably at Valley Feed in Bonner Springs, KS from the Heartland Hatchery people. Have to decide...BUT either way I AM EXCITED!!!!!

Yes! I especially liked my daughter's light brahmas and my son's buff orpingtons. The ones I didn't really care for were the Rhode Island Reds. Another breed I would like to try but have never had is the Black Australorpe. :)
