Hey All,

I started out canning only this year. Started with doing hot water bath and I'm now doing pressure canning as well.

I've made a few things:
Sweet pickled Daikon Radish
Dill pickle spears
Spicy bread & butter pickles
Spicy dill green beens
Pickled beets
Pickled brussel sprouts
Pickled jalapeño peppers
Pickled sweet peppers
Pickled Fresno peppers
Honey cinnamon crab apples
Marinated pickled mushrooms
Spaghetti meat sauce
Pickled eggs
Canned tuna (from Cabo)
Lugaw (basically Philippine chicken soup)
Pork adobo

Can't wait till summer so I can can sweet corn, asparagus and who knows what else.

Hello there, and welcome to Backyard Chickens! You should meet my mom, when she had more free time on her hands, she canned all the time! In fact, her username everywhere she needed a username was canningmama. My dad built her some sturdy shelves to hold everything she cans! So far this fall she has done 24 quarts of applesauce, and some kraut. Shes pretty knowledgeable on the topic as well. Now don't tell her how much I was bragging over her. :lau do you own any poultry?

I don't, our HOA doesn't allow it (major bummer), but I have a few friends that do.

I trade canned goods for eggs and fresh chicken when & if they do have them to make all kinds of great stuff.

My wife & I will be moving to the Philippines in a few years so I'm trying to learn as much as I can now.
