New to chickens after a 40 year absence.

Just trying the Deathlayers for fun. The fertility I'm getting is 50% so far. I heard that's common with young birds of this breed and early eggs when it's still cold... from what people are saying. There is also a Golden Deathlayer available but I don't have $99/chick!

I wonder how much/ long they really do lay.
