New to Duck Keeping - Duck Pond

Maybe! :). You'll know soon enough! I actually have a big stock tank for them to swim in, but they prefer the small pool. So you'll probably be fine. As long as they can get wet, they're happy!

Plastic kiddie pools are perfect. It wouldn't hurt to have a cinder block in there for them to hop up on to get out. Some of mine have had trouble.. and I've actually had a few almost drown. I keep water buckets in their enclosed pen and the pools in their run for that reason.

Also, if you're getting young ducks..supervise their swimming. When they're fuzzy they can become waterlogged and drown.

I find the double sided plastic sandboxes work well for duck ponds because they are more shallow and the plastic does not buckle and eventually split after repeatedly dumping the water. We have one that looks like a treasure chest but there are lots of styles.

We also have a stock tank pond since it has a drain plug at the bottom so it does not need to be tipped to drain the water, just to clean it. We had to build a ramp with a deck for the ducks to use it but they like to dive down under the water and it is fun to watch. I want to add a flexible hose to the drain in order to drain it into my garden but I have also thought about using the drain hole to add a filtering system and waterfall to circulate the water.

I like finding free and cheap things that can be used for duck ponds but you can get away with something as simple as a rubber feed tub as long as it is big enough so they can bathe in it and it can be cleaned easily.
