Thanks LlChickens! We love the area as well, and you couldn't be more right about the people. This is a great part of the country to live in.Welcome to BYC!
We drive through Rural Retreat on the way to our property in Ashe county NC just south of you. It is beautiful country and the people are really nice.
Man, Michael, you're good! You nailed just about all of those! The Barred Rock is a mix of Barred Rock and Ameraucana, and we thought the white hens might be Leghorns. Any way to tell for sure? It's not important, necessarily, just curious.Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. You have a beautiful farm with that mountain backdrop, and a beautiful flock with a nice mix of breeds. Looking at your photos, it looks like you have some Red Sex Link hens, a Barred Rock hen, a Tetra Tint rooster, some White Rock hens, and a gorgeous Blue Langshan rooster. You can let me know if I missed on any of them.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
Thank you, and it truly is! We're loving it!!!Welcome to BYC - and to farm life - ain't it grand?
