Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow It sounds like you have quite a fun menagerie of critters there! Sorry about those you lost though! :hugs

We have forums for all you have or are planning to get. You'll find them by clicking the Forums tab and scrolling down. Also, be sure to check out the Learning Center, too, as you'll find great articles about raising chickens, quail, doves, etc. there! Good luck with your plans!

Hello! Me and my family raised chickens about 5 years ago. We moved and since then about 2 years ago we got chickens again. I cant remember all the breeds we have but we have 2 buff orpingtons 1 Wyandotte 3 sapphire gems about 5 olive Eggers and some easter Eggers i think. I also have 4 coturnix quails. I had more but a dog got into my flock and killed 4 hens so this spring I'm thinking about getting some more since I have 2 males and 2 females. I also have 2 cats and a dog. Im thinking raising some colored doves as A pet as well since last spring i hatched and raised a little European starling who i named Antonio but one evening when i was outside with him finding bugs and all that he flew into the neighbors trees and stayed there all night i had also tried making a little pond ecosystem with snails and cray fish. Then the next day i had to go somewhere for a few hours. i came back to find him in my little ecosystem and he sadly couldnt get out and passed. But after that i now have a bird cage that im not using and now i want to try and raise some doves to keep in it. I'm also thinking about making a little aviary type setup and have the quails on the ground part and doves that can fly and stay on the top part. I'm also pretty excited to learn more about chickens, quail, & doves! Some of my hobbies are: Biking, making ecosystems, shooting archery and air rifle, & tree climbing when it's warm outside.
Howdy and welcome!!

Hi! I like archery and shooting air rifles too. I'm assuming you mean pedal bikes? I was a bike mechanic and owned my own bike shop for about a decade until I moved into the country. It's a fun sport or mode of transportation.

You like to climb trees, too?! I once rescue a cat that was at least 75 feet up a tree. You've got some nice hobbies! Sorry for all the talking, but I enjoyed your introduction.

Best wishes to you, your chickens, quail and future doves! Thanks for joining and welcome to BackYard Chickens!
