new to the neighborhood

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the site, though I've been reading through it a lot lately. My name is Nico and we recently acquired a duckling. The basic story and some concerns I have are in a post on the duck board.
This place as taught me a great deal so far and I'm sure I'll keep learning as things go along.
So... that's that for the obligatory awkward "I'm a total newbie" greeting.
