Kat could you post the color selections you had on the other site I keep trying to decide if I want to try this one too.
On the grits and hominy discussion ( my grandparents and aunts were raised in TX, and could cook like all getout.) I like my grits with butter and salt and pepper.
Hominy I love to fix by rinsing the hominy after you pour off the liquid in the can. Then chop some bacon and onions and saute until bacon is done and onions clear then fill the hominy can with water and pour water and hominy into pan and let it cook down until no liquid is left. My Grandmother Matties recipe.

I'm going to have to try your Grandmother Matties recipe, it sounds good & I bet my Southern DH will love it.

I've been thinking about blocks for this one, I may go w/ something very traditional w/ a sm. # of half-square triangles, like maybe a churn dash or modified bear paw or if I can find a very simple star that I like ... lots of options...I'll let everyone know when I narrow it down.

I was thinking about playing with drunkards path, small ones so each block could have a pattern in itself. Not sure if that will be biting off more then I can chew or not, we'll see as I play around w/ it.
