Okay, I finally had (1) hatch today (my first quail). Have about 48 more that made it into lockdown out of all the eggs I had set. Ended up with alot of clear ones when I candled before lockdown that I had to get rid of,( I'm going to blame it on the rough shipping by USPS around the holidays). Anyway I do have the one that hatched sometime between when I left for work this morning & when I got home this evening. Question is how long can I leave the little guy in the bator before I need to get it into the brooder so it can get to water & food ? It does look pretty dry already so my guess is that its been out of the egg for a few hours atleast. Have a few more that are rocking but cant really any more pipped so far.
, come on eggs lets do this !!! I know its not a big deal for yall thats been doing this for awhile but for me it is a big deal being a quail first timer, LOL !
Come on Chickies!! Hatch!! Glad to hear their on their way!
Oh, most of us, myself included... Still get excited! I'm on my 4th hatch and I can tell you will still feel the same on my 400th!
We love hearing others excitement too so share and count them all you want!
They need to stay in the incubator until they are fully dry! They can be there almost 2 days.. Try not to open the incubator if eggs are pipped if you don't have to.
Okay thanks, I know that chickens could stay in up to 3 days if needed but just was not sure about quail. Have not opened the bator so far but my problem is seeing which ones are pipped, kinda hard to tell for me being my first hatch but I can see the ones that are wiggiling !!! Will leave them in until tomorrow morning & see how many more hatch tonight.
