7 out, one hatched overnight, not sure of timing.

1 left in shell, half zipped, no action, still kicking though.

I'm up to 7 baby buttons! I looked at 3:30am and there were still just the 5. Then when I woke up there were 7!

OMG are they little. I'm definitely hooked and in love!

Will be incubating many more buttons.....

Update:

Number 8 is out, and I have completed my first nap of the year. This hatch is over.

Number 8 is the only official 2009 chick, 1 - 6 hatched out in 2008, and number 7 was sometime between 9:00PM and 2:30AM so who knows.

I think I've got 16 in there this morning. It's hard to count them, so I arrived at that figure by counting unhatched eggs and subtracting those from the number that went in for hatching. I have to say I am stunned at how many I am winding up with: I figured I'd do a lot of screwing up and only get a few to hatch at most!

I had 5 cochins hatch and one egg I put in the bator to see if it's any good. The hens had pushed it out of the nest.
