New York mini chickenstock 2016

Grrr!!! My incubation is on day 23#!# the eggs are rocking and Rollin but HELLO I WANT CHICKS!!! How long do I wait before I start the Eggtopsy?
what kind of chickens? I recently hatched 5 dozen maran eggs. the humidity was really high so much the windows were dripping. I still had to help about 1/2 out of the shells after around 24 hrs of no more hatching. it's strange how some breeds just don't hatch well and others like silkies just pop right out and early at that!!

hens are RIR , black astrolorp, and white leghorn all purebred. Roo's are silver spitzhauben, gold spitzhauben and lavender orpington. Again all purebred. No clue which egg hold what other than the 1 white egg belongs to the white leghorn. Bator ran at 100.5-101 the entire time with 42%-60% humidity.

You were doing still air right? 100.5-101 would be a degree to a half degree low so that would definitely explain the late hatch.

That's the 6 remaining from the original hatch from my eggs . All but 1 are spitzhauben babies. The 1 is a white leghorn and lavender orpington mix. There is 1 black astrolorp and gold spitzhauben babies as well as 1 RIR and gold spitzhauben mix. The other 3 are white leghorn and spitzhauben mix, just not sure if it's gold or silver. They have started to get the cool hair doo, what is it called?

My first hatch this year - they started at day 22 & 23 ... someone just down the road had her first come out on 23 and she said others did too - they all hatch a lot - so I think I will blame it on maybe low temps - but surely on the weather and barometric pressure

I think the hairdo is called crest, but I sometimes call them crowns- Especially on my CCL, Elsa.
I have 5 crested creations myself. I'll get pictures today.
Good luck with your hatch. If it's day 24 and no pips the humidity may have been too high for the incubating period. What happens in that case is the air cells don't grow large enough and the chicks can't position themselves. Sometimes they drown. Low temps can delay hatches, like others have said. I know I've had trouble with thermometers and hygrometers being inaccurate. What day did you set them?
