Mmm not so sure he has a long neck, think the breed have quite long necks when fully stretched, he's turning towards the camera which gives the illusion that its long and thin...

Heres a pic of a gold pencilled cockerel and he has a long neck too..

Obviously this one is a more mature roo, displaying more feather but you can see the pencil markings in this pic as well and you can see the barring of the feathers in Dhowens pick too just trying to imagine him fatter older bigger with more feather.

Thanks eveyone :) Sent the series of photos to a Hamburg breeder that also breeds citron spangled Hamburgs and they assure me that these are Hamburgs and that the citron colour has been perfected by crossing generation after generation of silvers to golds. They are more commonly found (although still very rare) in the citron spangle version but the same has been applied to the pencilled by one breeder in the UK.

The cock should develop much more feather covering his whole body will be sure to share piccies when he does eventually reach maturity :)

Apparently the head pic shows the typical charcteristics of the Hamburg ? Off to see if I can find a Hamburg breed list on here....

Finally, managed to carry out a few searches in Dutch using google.nl and manged to find a very good photo of the Citron Hamburg Cockerel developed in the Netherlands. There are some very very old references to them in paintings and on a number of discussion forums old prints and drawings have been shared so they have obviously been around for quite some time. Also found many different breeds developed in the Netherlands in the citron colour. Fascinating... :)

he looks like he may have to much barring on him. it may or may not go away but i would still breed him to see what the chicks would look like maybe you can improve on his coloring with selective breeding. as the one above doesnt appear to have bars like yours does as well again maybe they will become more solid like the pic as he ages

My Roo is growing up and has grown in gorgeous long tail feathers. There's a lot more body feathering still to come I think, being so young, but definitely showing all the signs of being a citron Hamburg. :)
