In the Brooder

I have 2 4-5 week chicks and 4 1 week old chicks. Obviou the older ones have their feathering coming in and the babies haven’t really even started that process yet. When can I move them outside? We’re in Virginia and the temps are staying between 70-80 during the day, about 60 or so at night.

I just built this coop, no door coming in our out yet since they are still so little. Should I add that so they can get out or am I good to leave them just inside for now?

The bigger ones should be fine you could put a box in there so they can snuggle to keep warm if necessary. I would have heat for the week olds it would worry me with only fluff.

You could move the older ones out if you wish (no outside access is fine for now provided that the coop space is well ventilated), or if the chicks are already living together and getting along in the brooder, you may want to hold off until everyone is ready to go out.
