Hello! I am Erika, live in Ohio.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My husband, myself and my daughter are first time chicken owners! We have had our chicks for a little over 2 weeks now. We are estimating their ages to be about 6 weeks old.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 6 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We are supposed to have 3 black sex-link that I am currently unsure they all are, 1 orpington, and 2 barred rocks. So far we have names for 5 of them. (Honey, Salt, Pepper, Heihei, and Crookshanks)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
So far it's just been fun to see them grow, and start to develop personalities.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
None really, I am too busy with everything else in my life LOL. I do like to read.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married and have a daughter that is going to be 2 soon. We have a dog named Allie that is a golden retriever/black lab mix. I am a certified medical assistant at an OB/Gyn office. We live in Ohio outside of a major city.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I heard about this website from our friend/babysitters mom
