So I have read alot and still have a question or two.
Just got a coop and we have about 1/4 acre of fenced in yard to free range along with 3 acres of forest. I have a friend giving me a 6mth old Rhode Island Red Rooster that is friendly. We planned on getting 4-6 chicks for laying.
What do I need to know about introducing the chicks after being inside to the rooster? Will this be an issue?
Lastly, is it possibly to get a few hens so we have eggs sooner? Or will all the changes and introductions be too much stress?
Thanks all!!!
