Hi all! Been lurking here for a while now trying to learn all I can about raising quail. I have 9 coturnix that turned 1 month old today! For the most part they seem to be doing fine but a few of them have not developed feathers on their backs. I saw one that started developing feathers on the back, but now that it's been a week, it's still mostly just the pokey part of the feather, not the soft part. My question is, is that normal? Semi-normal? They are all eating and drinking fine. If it's not normal, does anyone have a clue what they are lacking? I've searched the site and can not find any threads regarding feathers not developing.
and welcome to BYC! I bet there were a lot of us lurkers around here. I lurked for about a year before I joined up, and now that I'm here I'm addicted to BYC! you can go over to our learning center and read some really good articles on just about everything, there also might be something there about your question.
