I have some chicks that are a few days old and many of them have huge puffy croups. I have hatched a lot of chicks and I don't remember this being normal. They are large and seem to be fluid filled, not hard and full of chick fees like the other chicks I have. Is this something to worry about? I tried to get a pic but it is difficult to see. It seems like sour crop but the chicks are acting normal and I have never heard of that this young. They were shipped and just arrived early Thurs morning.

Just a guess, but perhaps they were dehydrated and gorged on water. If so crop size and texture should change in the next 24 hours.

I suppose it could be but I have never noticed this before on shipped chicks and it seems to be past the normal capacity. And these had gel food//water in with them. The croups are just really huge like buldging water balloons on their breasts. I am probably worried over nothing. Adding pic, but it is really hard to capture it in a still pic.
