newly hatched duckling questions

Giving the smallest a chance to catch up. Hopefully tomorrow they will be okay together. Or move them to the brooder and see if that makes it better.

They are both asleep right now so I’ll keep an eye on them before I go to bed. I’m hoping they’ll just sleep!

Thanks for the tip! We were initially hoping for Welsh Harlequins but Saxony are beautiful too so happy either way!
 

I trimmed it this morning but there’s still a tiny amount attached to a tiny piece of the dried up sac on his/her belly. I’m leaving it hoping it will dry up. There’s no bleeding at all.
Putting them in the brooder just now. The farm suggested and provided wood chips. I’ve just put the tiniest amount of water in too. Only a couple of mm high. The plan is to introduce food when I get home tonight. Hope that’s all ok!

It was long!
Good to trim those off so they don't get tangled, or stepped on or 'bitten' and yanked.
