How close were they? did you feel any wash from the blades? I am sure you did, I mean, even the animals did, and they were frightening and harassing the goats.
Can they really fly over my house?

on a side note, everytime I have a campfire/ brush burning or fire in my fire pit, about 20 mintues after the thing is lit, a small plane flies over head. It has been going on for years, at least 10, but I finally put 2 and 2 together and realized the plane flew over each time I lit a fire. and there is a pattern to it also, five swipes, one dead center, and then a square pattern with the fire in the center. ??? I can't explain, but now I am thinking I am pretty sure this plane is way under the 500 feet limit.
The altitude regs are federal, so check it out.
Can you contact a competing news station and have them do a story about the "other" station that flies there helicopter in a reckless manner which has been endangering your pets?

That is a fantastic idea, turn the tables on them. Make sure you have all your facts together, i.e. the reg that states you can have your chickens there etc and then get someone else to chase them for you. What morons!! I wonder how much it is costing them to run that chopper? total waste of money, DONOT be bullied into getting rid of your pets darlin', I am so sorry for your mom and the obvious stress she is under. Seems like to me your both owed an apology. DO your neighbors have any pets? dogs, cats ? I am sure they bark and poop. People amaze me sometimes, thats why I just prefer to stick to myself and my family. My animals are part of my family and I could not imagine someone telling me that I had to get rid of them. I live out in the country and am very blessed to have great neighbors, I am truly sorry for your current troubles. Give your mom a hug from us and tell her to hang in there ;o)

One neighbor has 5 large dogs that she never walks so the yard is full of poop, the other never maintains his property and his pool is a lovely emerald green.
The video is now up you can see that they got pretty close to the yard and they were flying over the property for 45 minutes.

But harassing animals is not legal most places. Know this is the law in my county AND state. Ditto with the fly over limit of 500 ft. Had problems with the home airstrip behind our subdivision, until I threw a tomato at it, screeching something (my visiting friend thought I had snapped. I had. It was the dozenth time that month). If I can see what brand of soda the pilot is drinking, you are circling too darn low!!!
What a shame that you are having to go through this. Truly shameful of the community to not support you. I am curious if the woman who said that chickens weren't part of our culture eats eggs...
