They should be putting all their attentions into those animals, and leave our chickens and such alone!!! I always say that they have nothing better to do with their time.

I live right in the city and there are always helicopters flying over my yard. All my ducks, chickens and geese are indoor pets but I take them all outside daily. They don't make more noise then the next door neighbors dogs do but now I'm going to worry that someone is taking pictures from a helicopter. And I'm always outside in my pajamas, especially early in the morning.

The police are coming with the board of health to inspect the yard!!!!!!

I don't know when they are coming, but the yard is clean. I am so afraid that they will take the goats and chickens away or shoot them.

This is so crazy, I don't know what to do or what to expect!

Has anyone had any experience with this?

If all is clean and no odors are coming from the yard and all pens are in good condition you should have nothing to worry about. Lust make sure everything stays as good as it can and you should be OK. I wish you the best!!!

You may also want to point out the yard with the large dogs and the dog poop if there is an odor from that. May be a way to show you are in less violation of health codes. Also you do not have to let the police in. Board of health is a different story but the police can be denied entry unless there is a crime going on.

Make sure everything is clean. That is all you can do. The police are probably just escorting the Board of Health into the yard because of the news story and maybe they fear there could be trouble. Otherwise, I'd think the Board of Health would come by themselves. At least I hope that is the case. Just be polite and cooperative with the Board of Health, and even ask questions if you have any. Offer them a sample taste of goats milk, and some scrambled eggs

SHOW them there is nothing bad about having your animals! I would. Praying it all works out for you!!!!

You need an attorney. You need one immediately. You are not only in danger of losing your animals; you could very well lose your house. Think about your mother instead of those animals.

Creepy Creepy Creepy. If there's no federal law about video/pics from a copter than how can they stop any creep from doing it? Seems a little weird.

Guess I should quit griping about all the leaves... much as I hate raking them there's no way that anyone could see squat in my yard from the air... small blessing but I'll take it.

Agree on the attorney thing... and since you've already got an In with one station call them up and ask if they'd be kind enough to be one hand to record the inspection ... for the story of course.

If the police is coming that means that they got a court order and that's not a good sign. If they want to, they can confiscate your animals right there and then! Is there anyway you can take them somewhere for the day? Even in the house? If the police don't have a search warrant, then they do NOT have the right to step foot in your house unless you allow them to.

Last year my then 16 year old daughter started acting out and she called Animal Control on us and told them that we had wild and dangerous animals living in the house attacking her and my son. Well, they came and we were told that roosters aren't allowed in this area, and we have roosters, so we put them all in cages and put them in our RV while Animal Control looked through my house and found nothing wrong. But later we found out that as long as they aren't a nuisance to neighbors, then they ARE allowed. We keep then in the house so the neighbors dont' hear them crowing, we do.

This is so ridiculous! They have nothing better to do than bother people who have pet chickens or ducks or goats. ALL my ducks and chickens are pets. And I have a friend who has a pet goat that sleeps on her bed.

I don't see why they can't just leave us all alone and go deal with REAL problems. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Also, with the helicopter taking pictures of your yard, isn't that considered INVASION OF PRIVACY? It's like a peeping Tom, you didn't invite them and yet they invaded YOUR space and took photos of YOUR property.

I would find out if they had any legal RIGHT to even take photos withouth at least notifying you. I would suggest you get a lawyer.

If you cannot get a news crew to video the inspection I would at least video it yourself and even video the report its self just so nothing gets added at a later date and time after they leave. Get signed copies of the report and the inspectors ID number and the police officers info too. Have all your stuff ready and copies of everything so they cannot come back later and say you were told this or that. Put it all in writing that way there is no he said she said stuff and there is no confusion. The attorney idea is a good one too. Maybe he/she should be present during the inspection or before they are admitted to the property.
